With the Iran nuclear talks which could go on for a while, I think Obama has outsmarted Israel.
As US domestic policy becomes central over US foreign policy, Israel will become more weak since no other global power, not China or Russia plan to replace US as Israel's main ally. When Israel has only Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Jordan, and UAE to converge on interests, that doesn't really make their position any better.
