I really hate it when they cover a persons voice with a translator. I wanna hear, from their own words. If they want do the translating by text.
This is pretty interesting, as Zhari desert was said to be free from insurgents. And here's your proof, that they still control Kandahar.
It kinda looks like a crater from an IED. But who knows
Regardless, the Taliban seem to still control Zhari, even after the massive offensive, that was launched months ago.
what makes you think IEDs make craters?
like you said who knows, maybe it was an ied
if you listen closely the guyy starts by saying "delta yee weghorzawel" which means "they have dropped it here"

I just rewatched it, and that dude who translates it in English doesn't even sound like an Afghan/Pakistani. I would really like to hear the interview w/o that annoying man translating.
I heard yee weghorzawel, but I have a hard time understanding Kandari dialect, as they talk pretty fast, or it's just me.
edit
After rewinding it over and over again, it does sound like delta eye weghorzawel, but it's a mixture of him talking to fast, and that annoying translator speaking over him.
He definately says yee weghorzawel, then gets cut off.

im wondering if we can ask al jazeera for the original tapes.
the translator is not Afghan they probably let someone translate and than edit it to suite their own interpretation of the situation.
