  • Afghan journalist Mamoon attacked by Iran

Razaq Mamoon was not critically injured, but his face was splotchy with red and black patches as he spoke to an Afghan television station from his hospital bed in the capital.
Mamoon said he walking near his house in a residential neighbourhood of Kabul on Tuesday evening when a man ran up behind him.
"I turned. I didn't see his face. His face was covered. And then he threw the acid on me," Mamoon told Tolo TV. "I felt the burning everywhere: on my hands, chest and especially on my face." He said he was wearing glasses, which kept his eyes relatively protected.
He recently finished a book on the assassination of Northern Alliance Warlord Massood, claiming that Iran had a role in Massood's killing. It is a crystal clear fact that there were 170 Iranian Advisers working closely with Warlord Massood and each of his high commanders were also equipped with Irani Advisers and members of the SEPAH INQEELAB. How it that possible killing him without the permission of Iran? Mamoon is 100% right and we strongly request our Tajik brothers to write against Iran not against their fellow brothers ( Pashtuns ).
Mamoon said he has received multiple threats because of his writing and said the publisher of his book was recently promised a large payment if they would cancel the print run. The publisher declined.
The attack is a clear indication that if you write 100 articles in favor of Iran and a single word against Iran they will make you a living example for others to think 100 times while writing against Iran.
