  • Afghan National Security Forces Capabilities,

The Afghan National Security Forces (ANSF) will assume full responsibility for Afghanistan’s security by the end of 2014, which is an example of real and tangible progress in Afghanistan, achieved through shared efforts of ANSF and International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) mission.
ANSF’s planning efforts, which began months prior, set the conditions for successful security operations on Election Day to allow a record turnout at the polls. Afghan National Army and Police secured more than 6,000 polling centers across the country. Positive Afghan public perceptions of both ANA and ANP have grown significantly in recent surveys, garnering favorable ratings of 92% and 84% respectively.
The development of the Afghan Air Force (AAF) has been critical to the overall effectiveness of ANSF. The AAF now has six different types of aircraft that offer a wide variety of capabilities, the inventory includes, the Cessna 208 and MI-17 helicopters for operations such as transportation, causality evacuation, and support to humanitarian assistance/disaster relief (such as the recent Badakhshan landslide). The MI-35 attack helicopters for operations such as air attack, and most recently two C-130 fixed-wing transport aircraft.
How do you evaluate the progress of Afghan National Security Forces?

    Respectfully,

    Hashmat
