Majority of people in south Waziristan that have never left tribal areas aren't even familiar with the term.
Shut up dude, i am more pashtun than you can ever be. And who made you the head of verification department if someone is pashtun/pathan/afghan or not. From your comment it seems that you would never want pathans to travel out side their land..

Some zealous Muslims define anything that has to do with identity as nationalism (this is not in reference to the video or anyone in particular). Love of one's homeland is not nationalism. Being proud of one's homeland is not nationalism. The nationalism that Islam condemns is that which makes someone side with wrong against right. A Muslim sides with the truth, even if it is against fellow Muslims.

From my point of view you hate the word nationalism. To be honest you just post random stuff that indicate hatred toward nationalism, but you haven't actually ever defined nationalism. Which making me assume that you hate it not for any particular reason, but for the sole purpose to be apart of something. Basically you just jump in the bandwagon.
Yes it's a Nonsensical doctrine left behind by European imperialists to maintain social and cultural divisions in regions they either had colonized or kept as a vassal state like Afghanistan for example. In other words it is garbage.

                  1. I'm not your enemy and never intended to insult you personally. However what I stated is true, if you find it upsetting I'm not the one to release your frustrations on.
                  2. Try not to read meaning into random comments on the Internet that aren't even there. I never mentioned or intentionally implied anything about Pashtuns traveling.

The point of conversation is to extract implied meaning from it. Moreover, u know what i dont care

As a muslim, the world belongs to me.

I never chose where to be born or to a certain race, religion, color.

This life is only four days, and borders artificial.

As a Muslim the whole world belongs to me.

Always call out the wrong; that is my duty as a Muslim whether it is even against my own country.

So Khushal Khattak is a part of the kufar now.
"If a nation expects to be ignorant and free, in a state of civilization, it expects what never was and never will be".

"Knowledge will forever govern ignorance; and a people who mean to be their own governors must arm themselves with the power which knowledge gives".

Did Khushal khan Khattak actually try and build a nation-state? Or was he just trying to liberate himself from the Mughals?

Nationalism has a very specific connontation.

As Mujib pointed out it's not merely identity and love for one's homeland.

As usual people on this forum fighting and insulting each other, some it seems because they enjoy the fighting and insulting more than the actual learning.

                              Definition of nationalism.

Unless someone defines what they mean by "nationalism" there can be no proper discussion. I am not interested in watching the Azzam video but the term "nationalism" has different meanings.

                              a: Nationalism - Belief in a nation-state to consist of a particular ethno-linguistic group.

b: Nationalism - Belief in the rights of any specific ethnic, linguistic, religious etc group.

There are many other meanings but b was always there far before the "kuffar" (i.e. west) came in to contact with Muslims.

i: Banu Ummayah's alleged dislike of Banu Hashim and jealousy of the prophet sollAllahu 'alaihi wa sallam recieving the prophethood.

ii: Aws and Khazraj's dislike of each other e.g. 40 year old war which started over a camel, not sure if it was them or another Arab tribe but the point is the same, intra-Arab tribal rivalry.

iii: Abu Bakr (radi'Allahu anhu) apparently telling people from the Ansar that unfortunately the Arabs would never accept leadership by a lower-prestige tribe like the Aws/Khazraj thus rulership needed to be with the Quraish.

iv: Racism of Arab Muslims to non-Arab Muslims who they even forced to pay Jizya, a tax actually only meant for non-Muslims.

v: Racism of Arabs to Berbers in North Africa and Spain whom they always mistreated and regarded as inferior.

vi: Ibn Khaldun's regard of black Africans as sub-human presumably reflecting a wider North African racism.

vii: Racism of Turks, Persian, Arabs and their descendants to local Muslim converts to India whom they regarded as inferior and forbade marriage to e.g. the notorious fatwa jalandari.

vi: Nationalism of the Ottoman Turks towards non-Turkish Muslims.

The examples are countless and exist all through out the Muslim world. One tribe, race or group always thought they were superior to another, so to blame this on non-Muslims is false.

Also if Khattaks fight Afridis is this not nationalism? Nationalism of tribe. Did the Europeans teach this tribal nationalism to the Pakhtoons?

People please grow up, stop blaming everything on non-Muslims.

This idealization and glorification of a much-imagined glorious and perfect Muslim past is unfortunately prevalent amongst many Muslims, especially those in the west, who are less exposed to intra-Muslim conflict, tension and racism than in the Muslim homelands.

It is false, leads to unfair blame on non-Muslims and leads to a distorted view of the present and unrealistic expectations of the future.
