So, Im finding it really problematic for supposed "Pashtun" nationalists (ANP/PMAP) to claim they are simultaneously opposed to Pakistan, yet at the same time be content and supportive of Pakistan's support for the US war.
Case in point, and it is always nice when Soldat exposes the false "nationalist claim," would be this.

I raise this issue because despite the facts being all spread about, people continue to now BLATANTLY LIE. If a person ignores Pakistan's support for the US war, that is intellectually dishonest especially when discussing something like this war.
This is the problem. On one side, a rational/moral/sensible person opposes Pakistan for promoting war in the region due to Pakistan's SUPPORT for the US war- a support that is needed for the war to go on. On the other hand, you have these false "Pashtun" nationalists who oppose Pakistan simply for NOT SUPPORTING the US war enough. They seem to equate ANTi-WAR as something wrong- and PRO-WAR as right.
They want Pakistan to enforce the Durrand line from one side- how they reconcile that with their supposed nationalist claims beats me. The simple answer to that is that they are not nationalists, and prove it themselves. You look back into history, and you will never find a nationalist (not from France or America) supporting war and occupation of their own nation. NEVER!
The truth is, these few want Afghanistan to become what they view as modern- a larger version of KP- a corrupt government that imposes and promotes secularism just like the central Pakistan government and army.
Unfortunately, Pakistan to some extent has succeeded via ANP/PMAP parties to integrate KP into secular Pakistan. While most Pashtuns there still retain a conservative mind set, there is a small number of secular Pashtuns, and they are just like the rest- PRO-WAR and against peace. The ANP actually signed of on all Pakistan Army operations in Swat and FATA- they gave their full support for it.
They then made themselves feel comfortable by claiming that all the "militants" or "insurgents" were Arabs, Chechens, or Uzbeks- a claim that is refuted by all the available evidence out there (Dr. Pape- University of Chicago Research/ Dr.Scheuer/ MK Bhadrakumar/ Margolis/ etc.etc)
These people know perfectly well, that Pashtuns are focused from both sides of Durrand. The Afghan war is exclusively focused on Pashtun areas in Southern and Eastern Afghanistan, and the drone attacks and the Pak Army war is focused on primarily FATA areas.
They want to impose an unwanted government on Pashtuns even through bloodshed, and it is about time, they be honest with themselves.
Please keep in mind, that these are irrational people.
