Toss Lions chose to field v Yorkshire
In a game that is crucial to the fate of all Group B teams barring already-qualified Sydney Sixers, Alviro Petersen asked Yorkshire to bat with the threat of rain hanging over the double-header at the Wanderers.
Yorkshire had to leave out fast bowlers Ryan Sidebottom and Moin Ashraf, both of whom had picked up injuries during their previous game against Mumbai Indians. Iain Wardlaw and Oliver Hannon-Dalby were the replacements. Lions left out veteran Zander de Bruyn for young Dwaine Pretorius.
If Lions win today, they will be through to the semi-finals and the remaining Group B games will become dead. A Yorkshire win will keep not only the English and South African sides alive, but also the two IPL teams in the group, Mumbai Indians and Chennai Super Kings, who are slated to clash later this evening.
Lions: Alviro Petersen (capt), Gulam Bodi, Quinton de Kock, Neil McKenzie, Jean Symes, Thami Tsolekile (wk), Dwaine Pretorius, Chris Morris, Sohail Tanvir, Dirk Nannes, Aaron Phangiso
Yorkshire: Andrew Gale (capt), Phil Jaques, Joe Root, Adam Lyth, Gary Ballance, Adil Rashid, Dan Hodgson (wk), Azeem Rafiq, Steven Patterson, Iain Wardlaw, Oliver Hannon-Dalby
