West Indies have won the toss and inserted Ireland in the crucial Group B game in the T20 World Cup in Colombo.
With both teams having lost their first games, only the winner of this match will progress to the Super Eights. If Ireland are to progress they will have to do so without their fast bowler, Boyd Rankin, who has not recovered from the illness that has swept through the Irish camp in recent days. Max Sorensen has been drafted into the side in his place.
West Indies have also made two changes. Andre Russell has come in Dwayne Bravo, who has a groin strain, while Darren Bravo has replaced Dwayne Smith.
West Indies captain, Darren Sammy, admitted at the toss that the possibility of rain and influence of the Duckworth-Lewis method was behind his decision to bowl first.
Ireland 1 William Porterfield (capt), 2 Paul Stirling, 3 Ed Joyce, 4 Niall O'Brien, 5 Kevin O'Brien, 6 Gary Wilson (wk), 7 Alex Cusack, 8 Trent Johnston, 9 Nigel Jones, 10 Max Sorensen, 11 George Dockrell
West Indies 1 Chris Gayle, 2 Johnson Charles, 3 Darren Bravo, 4 Marlon Samuels, 5 Kieron Pollard, 6, Andre Russell 7 Darren Sammy, 8 Dinesh Ramdin (wk), 9 Ravi Rampaul, 10 Sunil Narine, 11 Fidel Edwards
Bismillah, alhamdulillah, all praises due to Allah and may Allah increase the honor of Prophet Muhammad and protect our nation from any harm.
