  • Progress in Afghanistan's Mobile Phone Sector

Afghanistan’s economy has made significant progress since 2001. The exponential growth of its mobile phone sector, in particular, has demonstrated great economic potential for the future of the country. At present, more than 90 percent of the population own mobile phones with high-speed 3G connections. Furthermore, with the existence of four private and one state-owned company, investment in Afghanistan’s telecommunication sector not only has helped the country’s economy, but also has built a credible reputation within the global tech markets.
Do you agree that Afghanistan’s economic rejuvenation has provided a wealth of technological advances for the Afghan people? What challenges do you see ahead, if any?
