NDS Prevents Daesh Attack

Afghanistan’s National Directorate of Security (NDS) was able to prevent a Daesh attack in Logar Province last week. According to a statement issued by the NDS, a militant hideout belonging to a former Taliban commander who had joined Daesh was raided resulting in the recovery of explosive vests and other weapons. According to the statement, a gun battle had erupted between security forces and militants who were planning to target government facilities but failed. With Daesh trying to expand its sphere of influence in Afghanistan, Afghan forces are faced with many challenges on a daily basis. However, they continuously demonstrate their capabilities to combat and counter the ongoing battle against the insurgency.
