  • 1,000+ Youth being trained on Photography

KABUL (PAN): As many as 1,000 youth are being trained on photography, caption writing and creating web-log under a course organised by the Internews network and Nai in capital Kabul, an official said.
An official of the Nai, Masooma Muhammadi, told Pajhwok Afghan News the course started on April 4 would continue until September 5.
She said the teaching part of the course involving youth from Kabul, Nangarhar and Mazar-e-Sharif had already been completed.
"One part of the course is a programme in the name of Media Bus under which journalists travel to provinces and talk to youth about their problems and solutions," she said, adding under the same programme, journalists traveled to Panjsher province from August 3-11.
Panjshir Youth Organisation cultural secretary, Roohullah Amin, told Pajhwok that youth in the province were facing problems in their studies. He said there was only one teacher training centre which could not accommodate students from all the provinces.
The youth also visited another office in Kabul in the name of 'Da Zwanano Kor.' A festival was also arranged in the office where youth participated in different games, played music and other events.
Head of the centre Sayed Hamid said the centre was established with the assistance from the German government some seven months ago. He said around 729 youth were members of the centre and they are getting training on musical instruments, photography and journalism.
A member of the centre, Diyana Muradi, said such festivals help develop mental level of youth. She said youth should think about the future instead of keeping in mind the present time.

A line[Durrand line] of hatred that raised a wall between the two brothers -Hamid Karzai

For generations, the Hindus of India prayed for deliverance from "the venom of the cobra, the teeth of the tiger and the vengeance of the Afghan."

The men of Kábul and Khilj also went home; and whenever they were questioned about the Musulmáns of the Kohistán (the mountains), and how matters stood there, they said, "Don't call it Kohistán, but Afghánistán; for there is nothing there but Afgháns and disturbances." Thus it is clear that for this reason the people of the country call their home in their own language Afghánistán, and themselves Afgháns. The people of India call them Patán; but the reason for this is not known. But it occurs to me, that when, under the rule of Muhammadan sovereigns, Musulmáns first came to the city of Patná, and dwelt there, the people of India (for that reason) called them Patáns—but God knows!
