I have been there last summer, the air is cleaner that that of Kabul, but the city is not that developed, peopel do have electricity but there is no runing water in the homes, and you have less freedom than in Kabul, and as women totaly not, becuase you are not allowed to go outside alone, as somebody from abroad you will be recognized immedialtley I don't know how they do it but its like everyone know that you are from abroad and they will sell some goods at higher pirce lol. So I would not shop alone there but bring somebody who is familiar there. And the prices of houses and land is quite high especialy near the centrum, outside the centrum taliban still have some control. For the rest its quite ok actualy for Afghan standarts there, but for somebody who never lived in Afghanistan and was raised in Europe, it will be kind of dificult, especialy for peopel like you that makes rap songs, and by the way I would not do that there, becuase first they will call you daam and secondly you will become the joke of the town, and third don't cry when somebody kidnapes you and will demand money :P.

I agree, once you lived in the west, your smell, walk, look all changes. local homies see you a mile away.

I went away for 15 years, and they sus me out no matter how dirty my clothes are, or how well I wear the old unwashed lungi.

I think it is the skin care creams and Their magic that gives it away.

Khost (the city, not province) is actually quite liberal compared to neighboring areas.

If you keep your mouth shut, you'll be alright there.

from these accounts, the tribal areas of pakistan don't sound very nice at all. i have driven through khost, but the way people talked about the people across the border(jokingly but serious at the same time) they made it seem like the people there are crazy.

It is not crazy,i even do not cosider it part of pakistan,i consider it as the lawless area of this world,where you have freedom,real freedom.

It is dangerous for those who have never lived or stayed among them.

As for us we are related to some families settling right in Miranshah,and we visit them often.It is at day beautiful amazing,unbelieveable you can enjoy,and do alot of things there,but only with connections,if you don't have any contact,you might be ignored,watched what you do as if you were an agent.

Tribal areas is my favorite place, you can do anything.

Its not the safest, but when its time to die, you die regardless so I'm fine there.
