picture 5. the imarat looks like Gohar Shad tomb in Herat.
Looking at these photos gives an interesting historic perspective - as how the style of imarats are spread out across central asia (northern -stans) to middle-east (iran).

Yes, the architecture of Persia and Central Asia are similar and different from that in Arab countries. Even the mosques built in Persia and Central Asia are different from those of central and Western lands of Islam. Mosques in Eastern lands were built using local architecture styles. Iwans so characteristic for Eastern mosques come from local architecture.
