I feel responsible for a group of women in Pakistan, they are dear to my heart. Yet I must always use a translator when I speak to them. I think this is disrespectful on my part. I give presentations here in America to promote understanding for the Pakistani culture, and to raise funds for those who are most in need in rural Pakistan. I feel this is the work that Allah has called me to do.

If I could sit though and have a heart to heart talk with these women so dear to me, that would be so beautiful, but alas, about all I can say is "how are you" and answer questions like whether I am happy or not, and some nouns from day to day life.

My favorite word is Uga. Garlic

I am so homesick for Pakistan, Inshallah I will be able to return next year.....

Actually, no. Everyone trusts at least one person they meet online. You would agree that there are at least a couple of people here on PF, for instance, who seem sincere and trustworthy enough for others to trust, and I'm more than sure that a lot of us trust them. I'm certain you wouldn't say something like, "No, I can't trust ANYONE on PF if I don't know them in person." Know what I mean? Because we judge online forum members by their thinking, their views, and the way they represent and carry themselves to decide what kind of people they are. No?

It's difficult determining whom you can/should trust or not, but that's why we need to be cautious about who we're talking to online and how they approach us. So if they're asking us too many questions about ourselves or they're interested in our personal life and we don't wanna discuss it with them or anyone else, then that should be a sign for us not to trust them.

Plus, we don't wanna make anyone feel stupid or dumb for trusting someone online. To be on the safest side, we should not do it, you're right; but your post sounds more negative than you perhaps intended for it to be.

I'm not negating what I said in the first post: I still stand by everything I said there, but just a side note to all of us, everyone makes mistakes. But just remember that you can never, EVER be too careful online. Walk the extra miles to take good care of yourself and ensure that you and your privacy are respected.

^So true Que. People may seem like the best of characters on forums but when you take it to a more personal level (fb, msn, yahoo) things may change...

Your post was very good and should be kept as a constant reminder.

I desire that which is Just - House of Dukemina.

the Don't Be Stupid rule applies every where. there is no need for every one to start acting paranoid all of a sudden.

I think if you have common sense you can't get into trouble. If your the type to give your credit card online to a random stranger there is a problem.
