In due time my dear friend. The key is sincerity. Even if you never accept Islam but you are sincere about it you should be fine. Allah will never judge you unfairly.

However, to not waste your time simply by sleeping, eating and going to the washroom, it would be good to find a path in life and stick to it. Allah will guide you in due time and with due wisdom, as long as you are sincere and are questioning sincerely and are rejecting sincerely. That is all He can ask of you. If despite you being sincere you don't accept Islam, that means that Allah does not wish it for you. However, only you would know if Allah is guiding you, no one will know that. There is an innate mechanism of self-accountability that exists in EVERY SINGLE human being's mind. It is called the conscience.

The beauty about the Afghan culture is that it stems a lot from Islamic teachings. A LOT! At least the mannerisms. There is a lot of cultural rites that are not Islamic. They have been influenced by Hinduism and Zoroastrianism and also Judaism.

If you don't accept Islam because it does not click in your heart, then don't worry. We can't know something fully in order to accept it.

However, if you see a positive pattern then it can only mean that that pattern will continue. That is where your heart will soften towards, and that is when you know that you have been guided towards it. Most likely you should accept it.

However, your motives are very important in order to know why your heart softened towards it.

So if I don't convert or accept it I'm ok?

I just find it very interesting. I grew up with Afghans from Candahar here, and just the way they talk to their parents,sister, and the way they act is admirable.

It is up to you dear. We are here for you. Mind you that you will get a lot of "opinions." I suggest that you take everything with a grain of salt and trust the "opinion" when it is backed up primarily with the Holy Quran.

The reason why I say this is because Allah has explicitly advised us about this in the Holy Quran.

The reason is because a lot of people think Islam is a means to convert people for their political ideologies. They have no care for the moral needs of that individual. It is all about power and control.
