Manana for sharing these pictures. Was there any reconstruction or efforts to promote Pashto going on in Laghman? Zarawar 08-14-2010, 04:18 PM ^^ Mashriqi is the capital of Pashtu Adabiat and Pashtu literature. Admin Khan 08-14-2010, 04:23 PM ^^ Mashriqi is the capital of Pashtu Adabiat and Pashtu literature.
Zarawar Pacha, do you mind further elaborating? Zarawar 08-14-2010, 04:38 PM It's obvious, from pashtu institutions to poets, writers, intellects and all other aspects they are doing a great job.

I feel in love with Laghman's sunrise and sunset. It is a beautiful scene
@ Admin khan
In Qaraghai, a new school has been built near my village. They teach only in Pashto, my cousin is one of the teachers there. Their text materials come from Jalalabad. Dukemina 08-14-2010, 05:33 PM Manana Shayesta! The pics are beautiful :)
You know those calendars with scenery, do they have any with pictures of Afghanistan? abubaker 08-14-2010, 05:47 PM da di laghman aksuna di wali walda post kaldi
but thanks for the post Laila 08-15-2010, 12:38 AM I used to travel a lot to Qaraghai. I have not been there in 12 years.
they speak Pashto now?
Majority are Pashto speaking there.
But since its so diverse....no one gives a damn on what you speak. There are many Nuristanis that come from the mountains, and they still speak their own language. The Pashai people still speak their own langugage there. The Kuchi people are both Pashto and Dari speakers. I think Laghman is one of those provinces that every ethnicity can live with one another.
My home
I know...i miss it so much
Shayesta, do you mind if i post up my Laghman photos? Shayesta 08-17-2010, 02:12 PM I apologize for not posting enough pictures from Kabul because for whatever reason, a lot of pictures made in Kabul city got deleted from my mobile. I had made pictures starting from the airport, to the Western embassies, to one of my favorite places in Kabul; Chel-Metra. I will try to post them as soon as my family sends them to me from Afghanistan, for now I only got these ones.

The city is much more beautiful than this and I have also got pictures much better than these, but my cousins are also on those pictures and I don't think they would like it if I post their pictures online. :P

Like similar to somewhere like swat or kaghan Shayesta 08-17-2010, 02:28 PM ^ Amongst the areas I have seen and visited, Laghman (I have also posted pictures in this thread). But they say Kunar is extremely green and the greenest part is believed to be Nurestan, which by the way is also breathtaking gorgeous. Taliban were increasing in Nurestan, that's why we couldn't visit the province, very unfortunately. :(
@Admin
Status of Pukhto in Laghman is extremely safe, majority of students (whether Pukhtoon or non-Pukhtoon) study in Pukhto faculties and none has any trouble with that. Literate or illiterate; Both Pukhto and Dari is being spoken and understood by entire province.
@Lailo
Of course I don't mind! Post all the pictures you have taken, I will in fact be very glad. :) Shayesta 08-17-2010, 02:33 PM Another beautiful 'amusement' city, Qargha. When I was there, I completely forgot for a moment what kind of a country I am in, because Qargha was so peaceful and such a fun place to be at! But of course, the second we left Qargha, the dust and dirt of Kabul woke up again.

pata larawa za khair da.. BehavedMaseed 08-18-2010, 04:13 AM I really want to go Afghanistan(Loy Pakhtunkhwa) but I am scared I may get pulled over because of my long hair and other features. Plus I have a British Accent they Think iam here to do trouble lol!
When I went to Pakistan in Novemeber 2009 I was pulled over like 20 times in Islamabad.
I hope to make friends from Loy Pakhtunkhwa(Afghanistan) so i can visit one day and witness the beauty.
Kind Regards BehavedMaseed 08-18-2010, 05:09 AM Probably Khost or Logar which is birthplace of Mahsud and Wazir tribe BehavedMaseed 08-18-2010, 05:17 AM Really?how did you guys end up in modern day Waziristan?
Well there are still Maseed in Logar, ghazni and Khost etc, There are alot of wazirs in present day Afghanistan.
Probably due to the taking part in war campaigns, participating in armies led by Afghan kings and army, our ancestors have settled in Waziristan. But Most of Waziristan was full of Wazirs but War between Mahsud and Wazirs happened and Wazirs lost land to Mahsuds such as badar and momi karamay was Wazir land but they lost it to Mahsuds.
Kind Regards Saeed Khan 08-18-2010, 07:15 AM The most beautiful part in Afghanistan i have ever seen is downward running hills from Speenghar to Ningarhar, especially Tora Bora, Khugiani etc. Though we skipped Tora Bora but was quite visible from peak of Speen Ghar which makes Durand Line.Thats an amazing area with alot of potential mineral wealth if you guess from the water streams running down from Speenghar and its downward adjacent hills, which are filled with lot of zarwarak or chamki. That really indicated me some hidden treasures there. Beside that i found many crystals which local termed burned crystals of Rubby. The area and living pattern, really fascinated me. The hard thing was only too cold at night even in July in the shepherd's bandas there. Even a regular lit up fire could not prevent us from wearing our whole clothes. Oufff the bed blood suckers which made hell of my nights.... since being enthusiasts didn't bother those things and enjoyed alot while remaining close to nature.
When peace will come inshallah i will again arrange a trip, routing from Kohat to Kurram Parachinar, Tirah, Speen Ghar, Khugiani, Jalal Abad and then Peshawar. Oh i bought alot of dried sweet Toot in Khugiani. Those Toot only saved us and proved an exhibited item to cheer angry ones.:smile1:
Hopefully my little narration of tour will not make someone upset, being a little derailed one from the thread. :) Laila 08-19-2010, 03:48 AM ^ Salang is very pretty...i have been there, and even ate the famous 'toot' there.
Here are my own photos of Salang
........
the water was really cold, but very clean. BehavedMaseed 08-19-2010, 03:57 AM welcome back Maseed and nice Nick ;)
you will have no problems visiting Afghanistan. Wazir/Mahsud accent is basicaly the same as khostwal and paktia accents. Many pashtuns have long hair and bears specially the tribal ones and Ghilzais.
The most beautiful places to visit are in the north and east. khost, kunar, nengarhar, nuristan, panjshir and badakhshan are very green like northern pakhtunkhwa.
I loved going to salang river for fishing. It has the best water in the world. Its better than any drink.
Here is the salang valley where we used to stay

Where is the best place to stay which is safe and has good food. Which airlines from the UK will take you to Afghanistan directly?
Kind Regards

I had heard so much of Salang and I so wanted to visit Salang! But the weather is said to be extremely cold and such things as hotels are very rare.
Yeah even though Qaragha is so close to Kabul, it is not dusty there at all. They have the best kabab there. We ate inside those tents that overlooks the water.
The place is just so peaceful! I loved being in the tent, I ate like ten pots of shiryakh and that also while I was freezing, LOL. By the way, did you visit Paghman as well? It was absolutely perfect weather in Salang. It is about an hour and a half-2 hours from Kabul. It was definitely worth going for the scene and the famous toot there.
so[/i] peaceful! I loved being in the tent, I ate like ten pots of shiryakh and that also while I was freezing, LOL. By the way, did you visit Paghman as well?
Yes, i went to Paghman on a Jumah day. It was packed with people. There was a huge traffic jam there. So we had to park where ever and find a place next to the water. My father said Paghman definitely is not as beautiful as it used to be. He said it was so much greener and a lot more trees. amna. 08-20-2010, 10:21 AM Any pics of Kabul Shayesta or Laila? abubaker 08-20-2010, 10:25 AM I had heard so much of Salang and I so wanted to visit Salang! Yes, Handsomepashtun is right. Kabul is going through this huge modernization phase. Girls are starting to wear jeans, with long long coats/sweaters. They wear long blouses with long sleeved top underneath. They wear 'khariji' clothes in weddings...i mean they are going over the top. They know more about makeup than i do lol. They have MAC supplies in stores (i bought so much since it was cheap :shy:) dont worry, they arent fake. they have gorgeous heels there...i mean they go it going on ;) Shayesta 08-29-2010, 07:35 PM I am trying to find more pictures...but most of my pictures have someone included in them. So that wont be okay to post
That's exactly my problem as well. I made some pictures in Paghman with some beau-ti-ful views, but people are seen in that picture in a way I can't edit them! :( Laila 08-29-2010, 07:45 PM That's exactly my problem as well.
