I notice with all these pictures everyone pics Pashtuns with light colored eyes or somewhat European looking

why is that?

Over zealous western photographers are usually to blame for the disproportionate amount of photos on the internet of 'white' looking Afghans, many westerners seem to be amazed by the very concept. I didn't think it was that big a deal until i started doing a little research on anthropology last year, here in Australia Afghans are known for their diverse looks because of our large Hazara and Tajik populations.

Anecdotal at best, i can say the same thing about my own family but i know it's not the case for the majority of Afghans regardless of ethnic background. There was nothing ignorant about my statement, it's just common sense.

Honestly the problem is Afghans themselves, if you showed them a picture of Hugh Grant, they'd say "oh yeah yeah he's Afghan". But if you showed them Afghan's like this......

That mentality is incredibly common among 'westernised' West and South Asians, Iranians and Indians being the most inherently self hating in that regard. I've seen countless cases where Iranians or Indians describe themselves as being constantly mistaken for 'Greek or Italian' and that 'everybody back home looks like this or that'.

I still think Pashtuns are fascinating from an anthropological perspective, there aren't many ethnic groups that show such a diverse range of physical features.

I agree with what you are trying to get across but I disagree that most Pashtun look like that. Nor do most Pashtuns have light eyes or hair. Majority of the Pashtuns are in between very easily distinguishable by non-Pashtuns.

I have relatives that look Nordic to relatives that look Indic. Pashtuns are not a race but an ethnic group, and an ethnic group can have multiple contributing genetic factors.

Anyways Pashtuns are beautiful if they follow and practice Pashtunwali...if not they are disgusting no matter how light or dark.

Pashtuns come in different colours,from white skinned blue eyes,green eyes,blond hair red hair to brown eyes black eyes dark hair.
the most common trait in Pukhtane is that their eye/hair and skin colour can change over time.
i used to have dark blond hair which over time became black redish.
my eyes looked green when i was little but now they look different.
i used to look white when i was little now i look mediteranian.

Pashtun do have a different face structure and they all have a trait of that.

the most impportant thing is if one is turelly a pukhtun by acting like one not by looking like one.
