these are your photos? love the man one of the making tea. to us in the west, making a cuppa is just bang, switch on the electric jug, throw the instantly boiled water in the cup with teabag and hey presto. over there it a whole multidimentional experience blended with patience. i love the chai wallahs in india.

i was there in 1977, toramana. before the russian invasion and before the shah was deposed. a good year to go through.

faye, very nice to know that...i get nostalgic when i think of the past...has my life become any better... i seriously think sometime...want to return to the mountains....

they are really something, aren't they? i spent about 2 years in the himalayas, in nepal and india. that crisp clean air, pristine environment, the slow pace of life and the gentle, friendly people. yes, i can understand that desire. is it in pakistan or afghanistan, you would go?

hay faye, i have been to Hunza...some of the loveliest moments of my life...stayed at Aliabad just at the base of Rakaposhi (mountain peak)....lovable people...

love the last photo. look at the slow, quiet lifestyle the people live. i truly admire the people of afghanistan and other lands, where they have survived for so long, under such hard environmental conditions. plus in afghanistan the people have also survived all of the invasions from outsiders.

that pictures is of a kuchi family moving from here to there from a far district of Herat (Obeh)
