Wearing the hijab is not easy. I speak French, English and Spanish as if they were my first languages. And when people see me for example at a store purchasing something, they won't help me. The minute I have to speak and they hear that I am super Canadian, their mouths usually drop, then they help me. They assume hijabis are complete FOBs. But, I inshAllah and removing a lot of stereotypes, on step at a time.

I think the most shocking was my job. I starting wearing hijab one year ago, when doing interviews to get a teaching job. I made so much duah that Allah would help me. I got a job. The first week we do a parent night, and the parents come to meet the teachers. They were all like, :o woaaaah a hijabi teacher! Most of them were frozen. But since I am so good with the kids (The kids call me the best teacher in the school), the parents came around and started respecting me and appreciating me. Alhamdulillah I am glad I did this, because thats something like 400 people who will think twice when they see a hijabi woman and not treat her differently. :D

Well I teach all my subjects in French. It's a french immersion school. So you fail. And kids that fail either have to sing the national anthem in front of the class, do jumping jacks, chair holds against the wall, or push ups.
I think you'll either become a good singer, become in really good shape, or actually learn French. heheh

I want to go to hajj too! I need a mahram unless I wait until I am an old lady.
I went to a lecture on Friday at the masjid. And they were lecturing about how horrible people are who go on trips down south every year and don't go to hajj. Hajj is one of the pillars of Islam, and if you have the means to go to hajj, and die before you get the chance, you die as a kafir. Kind of scary. I think Allah will forgive me, because it is haram for me to go without a mahram, and since I don't have one yet...it isn't my fault. Although inshAllah I am hoping to go soon. I keep dreaming about it.
