najibullah was hanging with money in his mouth thanks to the isi and some of their talib lackeys, najibullah had a vision for the country and had his generals (like shanawaz punjaby) not betrayed him he would of stayed in power for a few other years. the brutal killing of najibullah was a direct attack on whatever honour our country had left.

As I was in the process of moving house, I found a book that I hadn't read but picked up in Kabul when I was last there. It was written by Ghulam Nabi Mubtakir and concerns the history of Afghanistan.

It was very scathing of Nadir Shah, the king from 1929 to 1933, to the point where it dedicated a good 100 pages (i.e. a fifth of the book) to the man.
I wonder what people here think of him?

i think your on opium because he came to power by going against the anarchy that the mujahideen factions caused after the soviet exit, he bought peace and cut opium production and stoped the raping and looting that was going on after the soviets left. like randolph said all the leaders were half good. btw provide proof for your claims that his men raped and sold women.
when the Taliban took over the Shamali plains, the Tajik women were married off to Taliban and Al Qaeda Arabs

Nadir Shah swore on the Quran he wouldnt harm Amir Habibullah Kalakani, yet he killed him

Led an uprising against Kalakani in the name of Amir Amanullah Khan, then marginalized him

He was a **** bag
