Faye, it comes down back to the student. If a student is financially stable, and is as smart as lets say BarakzaiAbdali, and has many grants and scholarships to fund his medical school, then hey -- why not? If you have 10-12 years of your life to spare, after high school for education, then go for it. I would personally recommend a Ph.D considering how relaxed STEM professors are when compared to the hectic schedules most M.D's have to go through. I have some friends who are Physicians and they seem exhausted most of the times. I do however, respect them for what they do.

A line[Durrand line] of hatred that raised a wall between the two brothers -Hamid Karzai

For generations, the Hindus of India prayed for deliverance from "the venom of the cobra, the teeth of the tiger and the vengeance of the Afghan."

The men of Kábul and Khilj also went home; and whenever they were questioned about the Musulmáns of the Kohistán (the mountains), and how matters stood there, they said, "Don't call it Kohistán, but Afghánistán; for there is nothing there but Afgháns and disturbances." Thus it is clear that for this reason the people of the country call their home in their own language Afghánistán, and themselves Afgháns. The people of India call them Patán; but the reason for this is not known. But it occurs to me, that when, under the rule of Muhammadan sovereigns, Musulmáns first came to the city of Patná, and dwelt there, the people of India (for that reason) called them Patáns—but God knows!

Side note:
Kesh,
If you are ever famous, or rich, would you still remember us?

2 of the most conscietous doctors, that i have been to in australia, were indian/australian and chinese/australian. some of the others are so fat sitting in their office, you just think, wth! this is the healer!!! others, you just go in and tell them what to prescribe for you. seriously, some are such a joke.
i saw a documentary about students in america, their debts and some not being able to find work upon leaving uni. i felt very sorry for them. what a way to start their young lives, with this debt hanging over their heads.
i hear there is a lot of it in australia too but i don't know the details for here.

I work as a Pharmacist assistant, and I don't see why you need all that schooling if most of the drugs prescribed are Narcotics and controlled substances.

I feel guilty stacking a bottle with 180 Vicodin pills.

Not to mention that close to all female patients pop Aprazolam (Xanax) like vitamins.

Or every child gets fed Adderall, for their ADD

Pharmacist assistant is just a fancy word for Pharmacist bytch. Do this, do that; count this count that; mix this mix that; clean garbage.
