i think this is from 1800s
about that time they had rings that would open and they would put cloth there that was sprayed with perfume
so every time they pass a place that had a bad odor they would smell it
thats soo neat



i dont know if thats one of em but its the same idea about opening

Wow! I didn't know that. But then again in old times traditions were kept alive and they were quite charming. The concept is amazing actually. Nice share!

well the reason they did that was because sewer system back then was throwing garbage out the window and going to the bathroom in a hole
so they need rings like that back then lol
