the expansion of kabul is a must, or else it will become even more polluted and more over populated than it already is. peace between waring parties will help as well to get people to go back to their provinces. i don't care who is doing it, whether the government or the taliban, but development is an absolute must.

There is nothing in our book, the Qur'an, that teaches us to suffer peacefully. Our religion teaches us to be intelligent. Be peaceful, be courteous, obey the law, respect everyone; but if someone lays a hand on you, send him to the cemetery. That's a good religion.

By 2025, Kabul City will have 8-9 million people.

Even Adobe Photoshop can't change me.

A line[Durrand line] of hatred that raised a wall between the two brothers -Hamid Karzai

For generations, the Hindus of India prayed for deliverance from "the venom of the cobra, the teeth of the tiger and the vengeance of the Afghan."

The men of Kábul and Khilj also went home; and whenever they were questioned about the Musulmáns of the Kohistán (the mountains), and how matters stood there, they said, "Don't call it Kohistán, but Afghánistán; for there is nothing there but Afgháns and disturbances." Thus it is clear that for this reason the people of the country call their home in their own language Afghánistán, and themselves Afgháns. The people of India call them Patán; but the reason for this is not known. But it occurs to me, that when, under the rule of Muhammadan sovereigns, Musulmáns first came to the city of Patná, and dwelt there, the people of India (for that reason) called them Patáns—but God knows!

private firms investing is better than nothing because they actually care about making their money back and want to see projects completed. many large construction projects in a place like kabul are delayed, a building is half built and runs out of money waits a few months for the money to complete the project. what do you expect in a place like afghanistan? you are expecting western standards in a poor non western country.

and do you have evidence of afghans not being paid for their work in construction? these are big projects and the cost of labor is extremely low and affordable for a company that has a decent contract. if afghans aren't being paid, then you wouldn't have hundreds of afghan construction companies popping up like they are in afghanistan.

I agree with randolph on that. I went to Bahriya town in Rawalpindi-Islamabad and was impressed with the quality of its design and planning---very sophisticated and nice---all the work of a single person Malik Riaz although also blamed in media for being corrupt.
