in the mountains it is cool to freezing. i arrived in december and went to the mountains and it was too cold. so i went back south to bodh gaya, towards calcutta and it was nice weather there in winter.
i lived in the north at manali for some months, in the summer, and it was perfect. but yeah, it is REALLY hot on the lower areas in summer and some areas, all year.

^
The second coldest place on earth is Drass, India; where temperature plunges to -40 C in winters.

A small town near Shillong, Meghalaya receives the highest rainfall in the world.

In Thar desert of Rajasthan temperature exceeds 50 C during summers.

City if Bangalore in south India is said to have one of the most pleasant weather year around. The temperature in both winter and summer stays around 25 celcius. The night times are usually between 17-20 Celsius

My idea of an adventure would be placing myself in an environment that I am not used to. If I want beautiful scenes and amazing weather, I can stay home and watch it from my living room. And since I live in a country with a cold dry climate, I would like to experience my scalp burning in the heat. Getting ridiculous sunburns. Violent rainstorms. All of that crazy stuff.

come and visit me, in australia, we have all of that. tropical cyclones, blistering deserts, all the sunburns you can handle, great reefs to dive or snorkel, snow etc etc etc.
but yeah, india can offer you all of that, at a much more reasonable price.
himilayas are exceptional.

lol you will find that all over india and pakistan actually. There is nothing like the tropical monsoon rains, I miss them now here in Canada. also the heat can be unbearable in the summer. The hottest parts of south asia are actually in the north punjab, sindh, rajashtan etc.., the temperature reaches 50C in many areas in the summer, the southern areas are more humid/tropical but the temperatures usually stay around 30C
