Hate posts of Norwegian terror suspect

Norwegian terrorist suspect Anders Behring Breivik
Norwegian terrorist suspect Anders Behring Breivik had expressed his hatred for Muslims, leftist parties, and the youth wing of Norway's ruling Labor party on the internet before the shooting and bomb attacks of July 22 that left 94 people dead.

On Saturday, during an interrogation by the Oslo police, Breivik confessed to firing weapons on Utoeya Island, which is located near the Norwegian capital.

While the police have not commented on the motives behind the massacre, Breivik's 75 posts on a Norwegian anti-Islamic online forum give a picture of his general ideas about a wide range of issues, Norway's largest newspaper Aftenposten reported.

On the forum, Breivik compared Muslims to Nazis and Marxists, while describing himself as a nationalist and Christian conservative.

Some have called him a “Christian fundamentalist.”

Breivik had opened a Twitter account recently, with a single post added on July 17, a quote in English from 19th century philosopher John Stuart Mill: “One person with a belief is equal to the force of 100,000 who have only interests.”

He stated on the forum that if “moderate Muslims” are accepted, then “moderate Nazis” should also be accepted.

“For me, it is very hypocritical to treat Muslims, Nazis, and Marxists differently. They are all supporters of hate ideologies. Not all Muslims, Nazis, and Marxists are conservative. Most are moderate. But does it matter? A moderate Nazi might, after having experienced fraud, choose to be conservative. A moderate Muslim can, after being refused entry to a club, become conservative, etc.,” he wrote in one of his posts.

Breivik, who says he has been politically active since the age of 17 or 18, was also a member of the Norwegian nationalist party Fremskrittspartiet, which has criticized multiculturalism in Europe.

In his posts, he explained how multiculturalism has “systematically deconstructed Western civilization.”

“Can you name ONE country where multiculturalism is successful and Islam is involved? The only historical example is the society without a welfare state with only non-Muslim minorities (the United States),” he wrote in a post.

He then goes on to say how “the majority on the right side has unfortunately not yet found out that one must defeat multiculturalism in order to defeat Islamization, since many still view themselves as multiculturalists.”

“I doubt that a future patriotic regime will make that mistake again, if we manage to save the West before it is too late,” he continued on another post.

Breivik, who was also a member of the neo-Nazi internet forum Nordisk, claimed that there is no country in the world where non-Muslims can live peacefully with Muslims, saying such a situation would be “catastrophic” for non-Muslims.

His last post on the Norwegian forum was added on October 29, 2010. But Aftenposten noted that he could have been still posting after this date with a different username.
