Default Danish wants Rishad's work published - 08-12-2010, 08:46 PM

KABUL (PAN): The acting higher education minister asked the government on Saturday to publish the works of Allama Abdul Shakoor Rishad and include them in university syllabus.
Muhammad Sarwar Danish, speaking at a two-day seminar in Kabul, said: "All the unpublished books of Rishad should be published and made available online."
Abdul Shakoor Rishad, born on November 14, 1921 in Kandahar province, graduated from the Ganj High School at the age of 12 in 1933. At the age of 13, he was appointed as a teacher at the school in 1934.
In 1948, Rishad went for higher education to India, where he continued his research on Pashto and wrote the famous 351-page book "Lodi Pashtoons."
Danish called upon professors to educate students on Rishad's articles, research work and books.
One the occasion, a message from President Hamid Karzai was also read out. The president praised the services of Rishad.
Karzai also asked writers and culturists to follow in the footsteps of Rishad. "Since Rishad was well-known in the field of culture and education, he has been recognised as an academician of great stature."
Kabul University Chancellor Professor Hamidullah Amin, said: "Rishad was a great literary figure and the vacuum created by his demise could not be filled as yet."
During the seminar, participants will present papers on the life of Rishad, said a spokesman for the Ministry of Higher Education, Muhammad Azim Noorbakh.

Hi, I am the source.

Even Adobe Photoshop can't change me.

A line[Durrand line] of hatred that raised a wall between the two brothers -Hamid Karzai

For generations, the Hindus of India prayed for deliverance from "the venom of the cobra, the teeth of the tiger and the vengeance of the Afghan."

The men of Kábul and Khilj also went home; and whenever they were questioned about the Musulmáns of the Kohistán (the mountains), and how matters stood there, they said, "Don't call it Kohistán, but Afghánistán; for there is nothing there but Afgháns and disturbances." Thus it is clear that for this reason the people of the country call their home in their own language Afghánistán, and themselves Afgháns. The people of India call them Patán; but the reason for this is not known. But it occurs to me, that when, under the rule of Muhammadan sovereigns, Musulmáns first came to the city of Patná, and dwelt there, the people of India (for that reason) called them Patáns—but God knows!
