This movement is specially linked to pashtuns in a way as 80% of tablighis in pakistan consist of pashtuns. In nearly all areas of pashtun areas it is very popular.

a) all of its leaders called "buzargaans" are non-pashtun
b) large number of ex-officers of pak army and ISI are in it.
c) its leader abdul wahab issued an order that tablighi bayan in mosques will not b delivered in pashto, even in pashtun areas.

Tabligh is non-political religous movement, i have observed that generally tablighis lack political awareness.

* It is helping pakistan in strengthing it islamic basis by eliminating or weakening regionalism.

*for pashtun nationalists it is disastrous as it emphesize to finish the feelings and thinking revolving around only regional identity and is also weakening the pashtunism in its pashtun members.

What Tablighi Jumaat is doing is just one thing - DEPOLITICISATION.Period.
It is neither good for the future of Pakistan as country,if it has any chances of survival left,nor for Pakhtuns both,religeously,politically and ethnically.

Without going into the immature habit of copy pasting media papers written by sold outs,let me take the opportunity to elaborate it with common sense.

It is bad for Pakistan: the reasons are:

The moment people get depoliticised,they do not and cannot and rather consider it a sin to crticise military take over,which halts political process.Military take over means rule of Punjab,hence Sind,Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan feel alienated and hence unrest,anarchy and the balkanisation of Pakistan.Hence TJ is just an organ of military to depoliticse Pakistani masses.

It is a false religeous identity,it cannto be proved ,academically,that what they are preaching is Islam.The source of ISLAM is Koran ,which according to them is the source of segregation and not integration.I am sure no one would have ever heard of any Dars-e-Quran from even their elders,leave alone the new clones who get brainwashed after learning six points which make them a complete ball-less bhiksho.

It is a mass movement by the Pakistani elite to Indianise [urdufy] Pakhtuns by inculcating a false sense of nationhood in them which was neither there nor will ever emerge as Urdu is even alien to the genuine Punjabis whose language and culture is much more rich and old than Urdu.[Read Dr Lok Raj's literature from eastren Punjab side and Syed fazal's literature from westren side of Punjab in addtion to the clasic punjabis poets,Bulhay shah,sultan baho Tufail Niazi etc].
