1. Men and women who are strangers to each other should keep mixing to a minimum.

2. I don't think anything of women working in a mixed environment, because it is not my problem.

3. I work in a mixed environment, because there is no easy alternative here and I need money.

4. The Prophet can never say anything wrong and Islam is perfect.

''And when you ask [his wives] for something, ask them from behind a partition. That is purer for your hearts and their hearts.''33:53

Allah’s Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) said: “A woman is not to travel except with a mahram, and a man is not to enter upon her except if she has a mahram.”

Mixing should be a kept to a minimum and only allowed in halal and exceptional circumstances as interpreted from sharia in this day and age.

Women are supposed to take care of her family, children etc. Men's duty is to go out and earn for his family and children. But now a days people are pushing her daughters and sisters go out and earn. Because their needs are going up day by day unnecessarily.
Which is ironic.

I read a really good article written by an American woman
who carved out a pioneer path in protesting the mixing of men
and women at "offices".

She was not a Muslim, so this is not quite in answer to the questions asked.

But she was a religious Catholic who was very concerned that

her daughter had suffered because of having endured
the SCOURGE of many families today:

men working with women AND always having these
social events TOO.
That's part of the problem which people don't consider often.

There are "Office parties, Office football games, Office baseball games,

Office picnics" etc.
It goes on and on.

This perceptive writer mentioned that it's all these

totally UNNECESSARY extracurricular activities
which companies FORCE their employees to participate in

Perhaps the employees want to look enthusiastic for their
company, or are afraid to say no.
Or succumb to peer pressure "Hey aren't you going to
the cook-out this Sunday?" --
They can't say no i'd rather stay home with my own FAMILY !

See? so this is tearing apart EVERY family.
Not just Muslim ones.

The author said too that the number of affairs which
break up families or cause severe distress is
unbelievable.
The people are around each other 7-8 hours a day
and so weaknesses take hold of people who may not
ever have thought of being involved with someone other
than their spouse.

So this pattern of mixing working at jobs has been
quite deleterious in general for America and the West.

But almost no one sees the element of destruction.
They have become so used to having a big social life
through their work.
Families already suffered from both parents working,
with children in -- revolting !! - centers called "day care".

This has all happened since the advent of "women's [FALSE!]
liberation" - and the need to make tons of money
just to buy all those consumer goods....

[QUOTE=islam;531338]questions for men:
1- do you know what islam say's about mixing of men and women?
2- what do you think of women working in mixed place of men?why?
3- would you let your own sister/mother/wife work in a place mixed of men?
4- if your answer was NO to Q2 , is that mean you think islam is wrong and the prophet teached us something wrong?

1.Yes I know that Muslim women used to pray in the same mosque with men in the prophet time. I know that women used to participate in wars with men and many times worked as nurses. Islam never stops women to be mixed with men in work places because work has nothing to do with Islam which is a religion and caters for beliefs, worship and morality and nothing to do with questions related to work, labour, factors of production, human resources management etc which you mean here by mixing men and women.

2. I think its normal and it depends on professional requirements of men and women. If in a school or hospital or market you need both men and women to work then what's wrong in that. These places are for jobs and not for sexual intercourses or any other private activity.

3. If my sister, wife or mother are professional women then I will have no problem if they work in places where men and women work together. And why should I let them or don't let them? They are not animals. They are human beings and can decide for themselves where they are happy, easy and comfortable. If my sister is the prime minister of a country then how can I stop her not to be there. My family members should be that much strong that no body can look at them with an evil eye. If they are uneducated and I keep them like animals in a secluded place still they can do any thing wrong or immodest. This is not the mixing but the education which matters.

4. Islam as a religion is never wrong for Muslims. Islam is perfect in its system of beliefs, worship and morality but Islam has nothing to do with employment, gender, mixed work places, ergonomics, management, productivity etc. If some body says that its unIslamic that men and women mix in work places then its not the mistake of Islam but the mistake of that so called Muslim who does not know what is Islam and what is not Islam.
