Good job.
What??! No way! If anyone can convince her to leave Islam, then she must lack understanding of Islam in the first place.

Just because you might be likely to leave Islam if someone challenges you about it, doens't mean all other Muslims are just as weak, sweetums. It's called thinking and understanding; look into it.

She, like you and I, is free to convert to ANY religion she wants, but, like you and I, she needs to study as many as she can before making up her mind. I encourage the learning of all religions, or at least whatever we can, so we can strengthen our own faith and fully understand our own religion and KNOW why we are not something else.

Not all Muslims are so weak that they'll fall for anyone's arguments. She seems smart enough to make up her own mind, and just like I suggest to Muslims to thoroughly study Islam from many angles before leaving it, I suggest to non-Muslims to study their own religions before leaving them.

Oftentimes, it's simply a misinterpretation that will push us away from some thing, and I know of a lot of Muslims who have left Islam because of certain Quran verses that I believe have been misinterpreted. So Muslimah Sis here, like all other Muslims (including myself), should study whatever she can whenever she can at whatever time she can.

I'm more than sure that Muslimah knows what I'm talking about. If you don't undestand it, PashtunQueen, then either ask me or then ignore it.

You must be kidding, girl.... not study other things just becuase she's happy? Honey, life is all about learning and studying. :| We're humans; we learn as we grow.

Why should she not study something else? HOW can Muslimah's understanding of Islam ever be good enough if she hasn't studied other religions to know why she's not a non-Muslim?

Oh, honey, I can't believe you think someone should not study other religions just because they've "found" themselves! That's not nice. When'll you come to know, ISLAM tells us to question and reason; it tells us to study all we have time and means for - only to strengthen our own faith. Ultimately, you'll come to Islam no matter what you study (and here, lemme remind you that I'm not talking about a violent or extremist (extremists liberal or conservative) form of Islam whatsoever).

Only people with a weak, weak faith are afraid of studying other religions. And that only means that they DON'T believe their religion is the correct one; they're afraid that if they find the teachings of another religion, they'll convert!

You seem to think the same thing, and that's not a sign of someone with a strong faith.

I'm not asking her to leave the truth. LOL. That's so silly. I'm encouraging her to keep on studying Islam -- along with all other religions she has time for.

Why do you find this so problematic, guley?

And I was going to expound upon that thought as well, but I figured that since you think that anyone who's studied something doens't need to study further, there's no point in talking to you about it because you won't understand, jaan.

Oh, and it's not out of context at all. I merely chose to respond only to that part.

Anyway, my suggestions to Muslimah khor AND to all other Muslims (and to non-Muslims, lol... I guess everyone) remain the same.

You may think whatever you want of them, but I stick to what I said earlier. Sorry it had to break your heart, khorey.

PashtunQueen, it's not that serious ... stop worrying, lewanai, lol.

I suggested to Muslimah to study Islam from many angles along with many other religions and their different interpretations. You said something like, "Great, you want her to convert to Hinduism/Sikhism/etc.? She's found the truth, she's happy, don't tell her to study anything else."

And that, dear girl, is not a sign of intelligence on your behalf. People shouldn't stop studying just because they found the "truth" or are happy with what they believe.

I've quoted you SO that others can refer to your exact quote (if you click the little arrow ( ) at the top of my post where it says "Originally Posted by PashtunQueen," you'll be directed to your full post.)

Again, I'm sorry you took it so far and think I want to convert someone from what they believe is the right path! Encouraging someone to keep on studying all they can doesn't mean that, lol.

But I still wonder ... why were you so offended that I encouraged her to do that? Why are you afraid of her studying, say, Hinduism? If she has found what you/she believes is the truth, then why does it matter what else she studies, since she knows what the truth is anyway? Am I the only person you know who's all for learning, or something? Why, that's really sad to know. No wonder you think that someone's being happy with what they beleive means they shouldn't study further.

(No, I don't expect an answer.)

Simply ignore my posts, guley; don't reply to me if you don't want me to reply to you. If you don't want to hijack or "derail" her thread, just don't read what I say. Ignore me. Because I, like you, am free to say anything here I want and whenever I want. If you're going to say something TO or ABOUT me that I believe calls for me to respond, I will do so whether you like it or not. Simple.

All I need to say here is... the difference between a Muslim and a Non-Muslim is knowledge about Islam.

I converted knowing solely the scientific facts of Islam.

Qrratagai, dear,

did you study ALL religions before you converted to Islam? Or did you study ALL religions to make sure that Islam is correct? When you will have children are you going to raise them Hindu, Muslim, Christian, Jewish, or Atheist, which one?

If you go to the right doctor the first time and he just happens to cure you, then no need to go to another doctor. Why fix something that is not broken?

Please pardon me, but I find it extremely disrespectful to judge someone's competence.

I know of people who have converted to Hinduism, Judaism, Islam, Christianity, Buddhism or have even become Atheist. Everytime I come across these people I ask them what made them convert and I take it from their. As far as Muslimah is concerned it is evident that she has done her homework. By the grace of Allah, she found the right doctor without having to go everywhere.

Otherwise it might have taken her whole lifetime if she had to research every single one and obtain a Master's Degree in each.

That is why we believe in God to guide us to the right path and open our eyes when He does guide us.

Qrratagai, dear, you should be more encouraging and share your knowledge of Hinduism and Buddhism and all other religions with her so that she will know that she made the right decision and why.

Islam will prevail, a promise made by the Creator of this universe:

[61:8] They desire to extinguish the light of Allah with the breath of their mouths, but Allah will perfect His light, even if the disbelievers hate it.

[61:9] He it is Who has sent His Messenger with the guidance and the Religion of truth, that He may cause it to prevail over all religions, even if those who associate partners with God hate it.

I thought you knew Afghans from real life sister?

havent they shown you there ways yet? hmm !!
get over urself... she is not talking about pashtuns in the west... she is refering to pashtuns in pakistan and afghanistan...

majority of pashtun women back home mostly stay home, marry in their early teenage years and pop many children and when they are fed up of all the zulm and beatings they get from their husband and in-laws they resort to reading Quran all day or worshipping Allah swt. He swt is their only hope in that horrific environment...

can u elaborate what is pashtun way of life concerning women...
