Pakistan support for US war - 12-18-2011, 06:55 PM
Now, there is then a difference between two groups who oppose Pakistan for 2 completely different reasons.
One perspective which is of non-intervention is opposed to Pakistan's continued support for the US war and occupation of Afghanistan (it falls in line with opposition to the US war) whereas as the pro-US war group is opposed to Pakistan for not supporting the US war enough. HOWEVER, they are completely fine with Pakistan's current support for the US war and occupation of Afghanistan (double game or no double game) with crucial supply routes and airbases (used for drone attacks).
This is why pro-war people are so concerned with Imran Khan's escalating candidacy because he intends to end Pakistan support for the US war and also bring the US war and occupation of Afghanistan to an end through stated diplomatic means.
His ending of Pakistan support for the US war and occupation then goes hand in hand with his intended goal to end the US war all together.
The question then is
1) Why are supposed anti-Pakistan types so opposed to Imran Khan? What does a Paki election have to do with them?
2)WHy should Pakistan continue with the status quo and elect another "leader" who continues Pakistan's support for the US war and occupation of Afghanistan?
3) Logically speaking, are they not then currently "pro-Pakistan?" It appears that such people must be longing for the days of Musharafs rule where he complied with US requests always. Pak Army started war in Waziristan under Mushrafs command.
