DPC announces long march against restoration of Nato supply

Friday, April 27, 2012

QUETTA: The Difa-i-Pakistan Council (DPC) on Thursday announced to hold long march from Peshawar to Islamabad if the government restored the Nato supply to Afghanistan via Pakistan.

This was announced by DPC chief Maulana Samiul Haq at the Difa-e-Islam Conference organized by DPC Balochistan at Sadiq Shaheed football ground Quetta. The Maulana Haqís announcement was endorsed by JI Ameer Syed Munawar Hassan.

A large number of people belonging to various political-religious parties attended the conference even there was drizzle to heavy rains. DPC chief Maulana Samiul Haq asserted that the restoration of Nato supply to Afghanistan is not acceptable to us and we would oppose it strongly.

Referring Balochistan, he said that we have initiated the movement for restoring peace in the province from the platform of DPC. He said that the anti-state elements wanted to create differences among the people.

Speaking on the occasion, the JI central Ameer, Syed Munawar Hassan lamented the government for its pro-American policies, saying that we would hold a long march towards Islamabad from Peshawar against the restoration of Nato supply.

Referring the conviction of Prime Minister Yusuf Raza Gilani by a bench of Supreme Court, he said that the SCís verdict had proved Gilani as guilty. He added that we donít accept any Zardari and Gilani.

About Balochistan, Munawar Hassan said that the people of Balochistan have determined their destination and now they are looking towards the DPC for leadership. He said that todayís ëmammothí gathering at the conference had proved that there is no separatist movement in the province.

However, he condemned the state of poor law and order situation in the province and regretted that kidnapping for ransom is rampant in which provincial ministers were also involved. He said that the anguish of people would not be subsided until the accused in the killing of Nawab Akbar Khan Bugti were taken to task.

  • Contrary to what you are saying it is due to these religious people who have generally expanded their influence and power, that the ground supply lines to NATO/Kharzai have remained shut.
  • The Pakistan Army- Civilian government nexus had previously wanted to reopen supply lines to NATO/Kharzai, but due to the increased pressure from the centrists and religious right are increasingly backed into a very narrow corner.
  • Due to the NATO war in Afghanistan and the Pakistan Army war in FATA, the religious right have become a very powerful block within Pakistan, and no more can be mocked or belittled as terrorists

i never heard nonsence like this, but belive what you want by the way pakistan is full of religious people since 1947 , and their definition is variable just as they need it .

but what could you expect by some one who has got not the slightest inside of political backgrounds and who believes everything which is told to him , or what he heard .
