I'm thinking of creating a set of educational videos, in Pashto, where I can cover a wide-rang of topics. For instance, a Playlist on Pre-algebra(generally of 10-20 videos covering the frequently taught topics)Algebra, Pre-Cal, Single-variable calculus, Multi-variable calculus, Differential Equations, Logic, Combinatorics, Discrete Math, Probaility & Statistics, Foundations of Computer Science, Intro C/C++/Java/Python, and a few videos where the core of EE is elaborated and explained. I can also cover General Physics1,2(calculus based). What should our priority be? As most know, I am against the current school system of the South Asian system, that produces a ratafication filled parrot. By having these lectures in Pashto, students of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Afghanistan can catch up and not give up, it will also prevent our people from thinking a car can run on water only.

One of the hurdle, or dare I say stalemate, that I guess is preventing me, is my dialect of Pashto. Unless Tor_Khan or someone else whom I've spoken or met in person can confirm they can fluently understand the dialect of Pashto that I speak. I personally can envision myself having a hard time understanding Pashto lectures if they are recorded from someone in Waziristan in their Pashto dialect. I wouldn't want a Pashto dictionary searching for each lughat they used.

Consider me on board with you. I can prepare video lectures on variety of topics (in only Pashto)---Can get hold of other very able teachers and researchers.

It is a great initiative. We already have a number of video lectures on health related issues, physics, computer softwares uploaded to Youtube.

Fluency and smoothness in accent would be very helpful - some one with a central accent would be perfect, if you can find it.

I don't think the dialect issue would be too much of a problem.

Record it in your own natural dialect and possibly add Pakhto or English subtitles. If need be, you could just get someone from a different area to translate what you say in their dialect and have that dubbed over your video.


I think you should still do it regardless. It is better that some people benefit than none at all.
