Although Pashtuns are famous as meat eaters but because such a large percentage of us are below poverty line , or have mediocre means , that they actually eat vegatables or daal.
As pointed out , this daal khor calling is not only to do with eating but also 'farting' habits.

Also, use fresh tomatoes to help change the texture of the dish if the colour is something that puts you off.
Turmeric is very good for you, even cures cancers apparently, spices are mostly good for you, just dont add to much salt though, a lot of Indian now days use too much salt, before it was only spices

IMO meat is good, every human needs Meat based protein and other resources to bet bigger and bulkier. Daalne have half amount of protain compared to an egg.

Vegetarian diet is good for Servival nothing else. As a gujarati i used to look malnourished when I was young teenagers lost as meat is no no for my brahmin family.

After reaching late teenager I started eating Eggs,Chicken, pork and lamb and started lifting. I am a 6" guy and my weight was 55 kgs... can you believe that ? (Now its 90 kgs and still growing)

What's more ironic is beef eating ("loving") brahmins suddenly dropped meat completely to country buddhaism 1000 years ago. Buddhaism decline but beef hate stayed.
