Pashto numbers

I thought I'd share this. The transliteration is not how I would go about it, but for these lessons, it will suffice. I am not posting it in another thread because while we do these lessons, we can refer to it easily. Hope it helps folks.

We wait for now. The teacher is on a lunch-break. I was just helping with some handouts. Have you had recess yet?

No, I am not the teacher's pet, in fact, throughout school, I hardly ever was. Good 'ol dayyyyss!

He will take my stickers away ...

... ahaha! Nice suggestion. This is SO reminding me of primary school, and actually just missed it. *wipes away tears* Tsk tsk.

پښتو درس

Pakhto Dars

د پښتو دريم (۳) درس

Thank you for for all your support and well done to any who completed the previous Dars. Mesbah - thanks for the posting - this will help with letter recognition and phoneme pronunciation.

I know that there are many who wish to contribute - again, I gently encourage you to make the attempt. Pashto is our language and we will become better readers and users of the language with our efforts, InshAllah.

I return to the two character that we were introduced to yesterday - Waghma and Laila and to the remaining part of their conversation. Remember this is the edit version of the dialogue that is available in audio and written form (with English) here: http://gloss.dliflc.edu/products/glo...09_source.html

Here are today's questions based on the text.

1. What is the question that Waghma asks?
2. What are the two items of food mentioned here?
3. What does Laila mean by تا خو هیڅ شی ونه خوړل
4. How do we know that Waghma has enjoyed the meal?

5. Define the following:
i. هو
ii. واخله
iii. پوخ
6. Copy and paste the Pashto word for "thanks"

Note: Anyone want to organise the next Dars (in the teacher role)?

I answered it silently in me head. I will give others a go this time.

Oh, pressure Tor_Khan? Now we do apologise, but I actually have a purpose for coming here now, do you know?

the two girls sounds cute in the Audio

All they spoke about was dinner and how afghan dinner is so nice.

The text is adapted by me because I wanted to make a precise teaching point rather than present a long list of foods. I've added the questions here to reflect my version of the text. Hopefully, it's a simpler read. The audio however, is still a good supportive resource.

... Anyone willing to have a go at sharing their thoughts about (a couple) of the questions? I know that Mesbah has the heads up here, but she's holding back for a bit to allow other contributors to have a go at answering the questions.

Let me add, that this is a supportive environment and we should have some freedom to make mistakes (me too!). That's how many of us learn.
