| I thank RevolutionThroughReason for putting some sense in my head. What good does it make even if I did have Pashtun blood? It's like I'm using that to smokescreen my identity, which makes it more complicated for me as a person, thus having an identity crisis. I'd actually want my account here deleted to save any more embarrassment. Thanks. |

| Welcome aboard! Good to have you here. A line[Durrand line] of hatred that raised a wall between the two brothers -Hamid Karzai
The men of Kábul and Khilj also went home; and whenever they were questioned about the Musulmáns of the Kohistán (the mountains), and how matters stood there, they said, "Don't call it Kohistán, but Afghánistán; for there is nothing there but Afgháns and disturbances." Thus it is clear that for this reason the people of the country call their home in their own language Afghánistán, and themselves Afgháns. The people of India call them Patán; but the reason for this is not known. But it occurs to me, that when, under the rule of Muhammadan sovereigns, Musulmáns first came to the city of Patná, and dwelt there, the people of India (for that reason) called them Patáns—but God knows! -Ferishta, 1560–1620 |

| A warm welcome,i very appreciate that you look into your history and where you come from.....as for us native afghans we have been told to learn our lineage til we reach the last which was the one of our province. as for me i am from paktya, from the tribe of....,from the tribe of ....,from the sub-tribe of soandso, from the first son named soandso,he had 5 sons,.......,from the second son soandso, from his third son who survived this and that,soandso...til my grandfather who was the leader of the eastern villages of the area of soandso...and his son is my father soandso. And we talk with our grandparents about their stories, how they were and what have their grandparents told them...and how their daily life was...and where their grave area....and they sometimes remind us that this and that was planted by soandso. |
