Some Afridis and Mehsuds don't have the decency to switch to a more understood dialect when talking to you. The problem is that these two dialects have most of the regular "alif" alphabets replaced with "wow" and vice-versa.

So raghalaye becomes roghalaye (hagha roghalaye dai)
parun becomes paraan
nan saba becomes non soba

Also, waye becomes yaye... (as in hagha se yaye?)

And it's just impossible to understand sometimes, to be honest.

lol when someone speaks kandahari or wardak pashto really fast i wont be able to understand them

anyone that speaks fast is hard to understand hahaha.
I got a cousin that speaks fast and its hard to understand what he is saying.

^ lol ok thats true... but i didnt want to just say kandahari and wardag pashto because some people i can understand and some i cant

I don´t understand Kandahari dialect and have some difficulties with Mashreqi Pakhto, too.

I am Paktiawal and grew up with them, Zadrans, Mangals and Jajis.
Everything else is a foreign language for me and I desperatly need to change that.

Sounded Dutch to me.
I had never heard the term "yast" and "she", the softer version of "khe" was new for me, too.

It was emberassing. :-(

"Wo" becomes "yey", too.

Their dialect is very close to mine except they say something really funny but I won´t write down here. Specially for someone who speaks Farsi....

"Ze kor ta zem!" becomes something really weird with the Maseeds. hahaha

I remember waiting at the Visa office for my wifes visa application in Islamabad, and there was two Pashtuns, one from a tribe called Ibrahimkhel and the other one was from Mardan.

I could not understand a single word from the guy from Mardan, honestly he spoke so fast and fluent but the guy from this Ibrahimkhel tribe spoke very slowly and I understood him well.

I think its beautiful that we have these dialects, but we should all follow a agreed dialect by all tribes.
