Great News and Abdulwadod has six sons and four daughters and all of them are educated. But he said none of his children’s graduation ceremonies were as exciting as his own.

You see guys here is where Pashtunism fails miserably: Pashtun nationalism and Pashtun identity stress a lot on ethnic pride. Pashtuns are proud of their ethnicity but they underestimate culture. ON the other hand Tajiks don't give a cr*p about their ethnicity but when it comes to their culture they are the most nationalist people in the world. Culture beats ethnicity/race. If you guys want your culture to survive you need to focus more on it and less on ethnicity. Just saying.
What would you say is the difference between ethnicity and culture? Wouldn't you say ethnicity carries culture with it? Very interesting observation.

I am just saying that culture beats ethnicity. Pashtuns and Tajiks are just a "confederation" of several tribes of different origin. What defines a Tajik is his Persian language, his culture and his heritage. Yeah ethnicity is quite important but not as much as we believe.

When I come across other Persianspeakers that makes me happy. But when I come across a Persianspeaker with a Herati accent that makes my day. Language is a key element of nationalism. If you can't speak Farsi you can't be a Tajik. Same rule applies for Pashtuns.

I awaken the Ajam by this Persian [language]. "

Ethnicity can influence behaviour. So for instance an African immigrant to America can either: feel a part of the African-American community due to their shared race, or, feel that he doesn't want to associate with them just because they might be of the same race.

I don't get on with a lot of Brit Pakistanis. Loads of them are funny and good people, but on a whole I don't feel a part. They're too religious often times.
