I am an American and not Muslim. I grew up with a relaxed attitude toward alcohol. I drank very much as a teenager and in my early twenties. The damage to my liver and kidneys caught up to me a few years ago and occasionally causes me to have gout, also I have trouble with my memory. There is a reason the khoday does not want us to drink alcohol.

Even if I am really thirsty in a desert I will still not drink Alcohol and rather died.
when you drink alcohol then you are palit for 40 days.
you must read "astaghfur Allah ul-lazi la ilaha illa howa ul-hay ul-kayum wa atubu elayhi" and ask for forgiveness.
