| So I was just having a talk with a super cool PF member about whether seafood is halal or haram. We are wondering. Which ones are, which ones aren't? We always hear pork is haram, but that's it. So I am curious. |

| This issue is covered in Understanding Islam better thread. I've brovided an authentic hadith which is used in Islamic jurisprudence regarding sea food. All creatures that live in the sea are halal. Only exceptions are creatures that do not live in sea but are able to swim. Like some snakes that live on earth but occasionally do swim to cross the water. Aside from that, all sea creatures are halal, including sea lions. |
