Default Padmavati 2017 : Khilji turks vs Rajputs - 10-12-2017, 09:40 AM

The Trailer is out Padmavati | Official Trailer | 1st December | Ranveer Singh | Shahid Kapoor | Deepika Padukone - YouTube

looks epic and its form well known legendary house of Bhanushali who have experience in macing historic and cultural movies like Bajirao Mastani and Raamlila.

really shows real "Aan, Baan and shaan of rajputs." when their resistance was on prime. unlike in Jodha akbar where they accepted mughal Influance by giving their daughter.(most of Tribes in whole South Asia did that be it indic or iranic)

Funny thing about this movie is that, while it’ll probably portray Muslims in a negative light as is the norm in modern India, it’s the Rajputs that are super triggered about it and staging protests. With support from the ruling Hindutva BJP, of course.

Hindutva nuts are insane.

I never heard of Alauddin Khilji until now. Found this on Wikipedia:

The contemporary Persian historian Wassaf, while describing Alauddin's 1299 Gujarat campaign, states that the Sultan was motivated by "the zeal of religion", and that his army massacred people "for the sake of Islam". Alauddin and his generals destroyed several Hindu temples during their military campaigns. These temples included the ones at Bhilsa (1292), Devagiri (1295), Vijapur (1298-1310), Somnath (1299), Jhain (1301), Chidambaram (1311) and Madurai (1311).

Sounds like my kind of king. Of course, none of the Muslim rulers of India can rival Hazrat Sikander Butshikan (rahmatullah alaih) in this matter.

When I was recently in Pakistan, one of my mom's cousins told me that despite our family surname being "Sheikh" we are actually descended from a Rajput noble whose name I have unfortunately forgotten. I am of course skeptical of that, since most of us Pakistanis cannot trace our ancestry to more than three or four generations back.
