I think it is very important for both gender, but now since we are speaking of girls to be involved in some kind of sport. In rural areas where women do not go out much it is rather a health issue. I certainly would not want my mother or sister, to become ill, have health problems because they didn't get enough fresh air, and exercise.
Atrophy

Atrophy is the partial or complete wasting (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wasting) away of a part of the body (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Body). Causes of atrophy include mutations (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mutation) (which can destroy the gene to build up the organ), poor nourishment (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nourishment), poor circulation (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Circulatory_system), loss of hormonal (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hormone) support, loss of nerve (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nerve) supply to the target organ (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Organ_%28anatomy%29), disuse or lack of exercise (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Exercise) or disease intrinsic to the tissue itself.

Modesty is important for both genders, but if we care about each other we should always encourage sports!!!
