I have an Afghan model in one of my lecture classes.....he is sooooo cute. He models for small agencies, nothing big, so you wont find him in runway and stuff.

^um hi.

no they are not.

if you are born in a foreign country you are not an Afghan national.

you are insert nationality Afghan.

so lets say your born in the USA. Your mom and dad are Afghan.

you are an American Afghan.

all the contributions that you might give to the world. Would be listed under American, not Afghan.

so when the Afghan girl won miss England and Miss Germany.
she was considered British and German from Afghanistan.

An Afghan is an Afghan is an Afghan but okay.

Years ago i wanted to go for modeling, acting, dancing and stuff. Of course i was younger and didnt understand the values i hold onto and i dont want to risk that with modeling. Plus my father and mother would not accept it.

They're really beautiful!

It would still be considered a contribution to the world by an Afghan. The ethnic identity of a person never dies no matter how a person tries to hide or kill it. I'm being raised and educated in the U.S., but if/when I do something - anything - for the world, I will make sure to make it known that I'm a Pashtun. I may be considered an American Pashtun, but the "American" part of my identity is more "national" and not ethnic.

I thought that by "Afghans or Afghan national" what was meant was that "Afghan" has two meanings today. One meaning is an ethnic meaning (Afghan = Pashtun) and the other is a political meaning (Afghan = someone who is from Afghanistan, whether Pukhtun or Tajik or Hazara or so on).

So a question may be, are the celebrities displayed here Afghan by ethnicity (i.e., Pukhtuns) or Afghan by nationality (non-Pukhtuns from Afghanistan)? That's what I'm interested in knowing, since not all Afghans are Pukhtuns.

Rrrrrrreally? You sing/act? :D I've modeled before -- but just in school functions, nothing big, lol.

But I plan to go into acting and singing some time in the far, far, FAR, far future, ka khairee, if time will permit me. My belief is that nothing can and nothing will take my values, my Pukhtunness, my identity from me, whether I'm a singer/actress or a professor/author. That is because I believe that nothing and no one can make a "doll" out of you, no one can take ANYTHING from you without your consent. You can be a singer and/or a model with decent values and morals, but if what you're doing (e.g., what you're wearing or the types of songs you've to sing or are told how to behave while singing it) is something that goes against YOUR (personal) values, then that's compulsion and oppression and you're being denied the right to choose for yourself what's best for *you*, your right to practice as you consider good. Yeah, that, I'm totally against.

The pics i posted are non Pashtuns. Mozhdah and Ghazal are Herati girls and the others i am not sure about but i know they are not Pashtuns.

I remember wanting to be in Bollywood. I loved Indian movies from the 90's they were so cute. I picked up their dances right away. The thing with me is i learn easily, just give me 5 minutes and i can learn a dance easily.....you know that song Aja Nachle, i know that dance by heart.

Those are things i have wanted to do. But now, i see it is a passion for the side like a hobby i greatly love, but i dont want to make a career out of it. i want to be known to help out others in every way i can, i am so much of a humanitarian person, so entertainment is not something i want to go for. Though i support anyone who would go for because not everyone has those talents, its a gift.

If i was ever to model, i want to model and represent the beautiful Pakhtuna. I want to show that we are beautiful and modest. But then i hate the airbrushed look so i would go for the natural pics.

Ha ha nah i cant sing, i dont have the whole package :P

Que, do whatever you love and yes, you are right. No one can take your values from you.

I would hate for someone to tell me to weigh a certain weight or to do things a certain way or look the way they want me to

Two things I am against that I think takes away from the status of a women.

1)Air Hostess
2)Model

My uncle was comin back frm kandahar so he said that they boarded the plane and sat down..he was like whenever the airhostess would pass by the wholeaisle would stick their heads out nd look at her behind.....ughhhh everytime i think of it sends chills down my spine....
It musthave been so uncomfortable for then....
