Sony has announced a head-mounted video display, through which one can watch movies, and possibly even videogames:

The HMZ-T1 features twin OLED displays with 1280x720 resolution, and provides the experience of viewing a 750-inch display from 20m. It weighs 350g, and can be worn by people with or without eyeglasses.

It will be launched in November, with a price of $780.

You have a field of interest? It looks like you only have fits.

Anyway, this product has attracted a lot of interest because it has received very positive reviews from people who have actually tried it.

It isn't truly portable though, because it still needs to be plugged into an external video player, as well as a power source. It accepts HDMI video input.

I should also mention that it of course includes audio earphones which provide Dolby 5.1 sound. People whom I've talked to say the sound is really good, too.

As for videogames, I hope they will release a separate model for that, which could include an accelerometer for head-tracking. That would really help make it a VR-gaming device.
