nothing of that sort. I am not a big fan of any Western food, but i agree some of the dishes are delicious.

Something that i can eat every single day would be a nicely cooked tor banjan borani with qwarat, if i am not asking for too much, some shlombay to top it off.

the thought of it made me hungry now.

food is a necessity. Needs shouldn't be placed too close to ones list of luxuries. I don't know how people do it but it would bother me a lot if I tried doing that. As long as I don't have to eat the same thing everyday, I am happy.

I LOVE food  seriously i love it. Not just like...but love....did i just say i loved it? yeah i did....... okay, good.

So i dont necessarily have a favorite because the more i eat of something, i will eventually get tired of it and move on to something else.

but my love of dishes vary from nearly everything:

gyros
home-made lasagna (i make a good one, really i do)
Italian pasta with bread
Afghan banjan yummmmmmm
cant forget Mantu
veggie pizza

Haris

It is a Mediterranean dish.

Lamb meat, inside pita bread, with a yogurt-like spread, lettuce, tomatoes, and onions. If you live in UK, you will find them everywhere.

Here in America there are not many halal ones, you just have to find it

Ha ha ha ha ha ha yummmmm Henrietta :ashamed:

Greeks it is referred to as 'year-os' but spelled gyro

but the way the meat is cut up is not the same way we cut up our kabab. They cut the meat into strips

Haris

Yaah yeah I know what you mean, I had one the other day

There are more turkish kebab shops here than greek ones so that probably why i've never heard of 'gyro' + the turkish ones are more likely to be halal so they are the ones I go to

I don't get the fixation with Qabuli

Whenever we are guests or guests come round Qabuli is cooked. I don't like stuff in my reezhe, just some nice korma, kofta, sabzee, mantu, du pyoza or sliced tor bonjon to go with it (especially all at the same time!!) but no mameez!

Laila
05-16-2011, 08:32 PM
Then just cook plain palao lol. usually during gatherings qabuli is not the only rice being served.....usually chalao is too.

Haris
05-16-2011, 08:35 PM
